How to Replace a Lug Nut Stud

5. Replace the wheel by re- Fastening each fastener around its circumference and torquing them to manufacturer’s specifications (usually 13 ft/lbs). Be sure to check for looseness after each screw has been tightened and retorqued – once everything is tight, you can safely slide your hand along each fastener from end to end and not feel any give at all (although you may hear some slight rattling if they’re really tight).
